Scope

This course is designed to comply with the requirements laid down in the rule VI/1 of the Convention, section A‐VI/ 1, and table VI/1‐4, of the International Convention on standards of training, certification and Watchkeeping for seafarers STCW/78 as amended.

General objectives

The participant having completed the course will be able to comply with the correct procedures in different emergency situations that can occur on board a ship; take the necessary measures to prevent marine pollution; observe safe working practices; understand orders, given to understand in the activities of the ship and maintain effective human relations on board the ship.

Prerequisites

Model specific income levels for training with this course are not enforced. All persons who aspire to work on board a vessel must receive this basic training before assigned those tasks on board.
