Scope

This course is designed to comply with the requirements of Regulation II/5, Section A‐II/5, Table A‐ II/5 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, STCW 1978, as amended.

The purpose of this training program is to assist the Management of Academic Training and staff that formed in the organization and conduct of the subjects to be taught as well as updating and content support where the quality and effectiveness of the program training can be improved.

This course is for seafarers in accordance with the applicable rules and which are described in the relevant fields in the STCW 1978 as amended.

Goals

Train crew procedures and navigation techniques and provide the officer on duty a person with the skills and abilities required to attend the same during the course of the navigational watch, maneuvers or in port. The seafarer will be able to assist the officer on duty at bridge in all functions related to instrumentation, navigation equipment and bridge procedures.

Pre‐requisites

This course is available to ordinary deckhands who wish to be part of a navigational watch, or those sailors with experience as helmsman or AB seaman aboard merchant ships. No pre‐ customized to participate in this course, however, participants must be of legal age (18 or older) and possess a certificate of good health.
