Rating Forming Part Of Engineer Watch

Scope

This course is designed to comply with the requirements of Regulation III/4, Section A‐III/4, Table A‐III/4 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, STCW/78, amended.

Goals

The participant must ensure training, aptitude and ability in the tasks of engine watchkeeping duties under the requirements of section A‐III /4 of the STCW 1978, as amended, with respect to the organization of guards and principles to be observed; to observe safe working practices; understand orders given to understand in the vessel’s activities and contribute to effective human relationships on board ship.

Pre‐Requirements

This course will be conducted, preferably before developing professionals on board merchant ships international shipping activities. To access the course prerequisites are needed to study such as: Being literate, familiar with the basic operations of arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). Basic knowledge of English. Be an adult (18 or older). Having effective medical examination prior to shipment.
